Imagine going into a bookstore that sells only one title?! This is exactly what a tiny bookstore in Ginza, Tokyo is doing. It stocks only a single book title at a time!

Opened in May 2015, owner Yoshiyuki Morioka opened his very unique bookstore of only one title a week. It follows the philosophy of "Issatsu, Isshitsu", translated to mean “A single room, A single book”. The décor of the bookstore is minimal. The book of the week is displayed prominently on the table at the centre of the store.
The weekly selection of title is picked by the owner himself. There is often a wide variety to attract different customers. To draw attention to the selected book of the week, the décor in the bookstore may change to reflect the idea highlighted by the book.
For example, a book on flowers will have the bookstore displaying types of flowers as mentioned in the book. Authors are also encouraged to hold talks and discussions in the bookstore. This connects the customers to the authors.
Sales seems to be doing well as Morioka reported that he had sold 2,100 books since opening!
This bookstore is becoming increasingly popular not only with the locals but tourists as well!
