No Animal Prints in this Zoo!
If you know what's happening in the world of fashion, you'll know that animal prints on clothes are very popular. it's not unusual to see someone wearing a skirt or coat covered with leopard spots, or a t-shirt with zebra stripes. LONDON, September 2013. But animals in a British zoo are getting very confused when they see people wearing animal prints! And zoo officials have now banned leopard or zebra print clothes because of this!
Image by AFP/UK OUT The British zoo, Chessington World of Adventures, introduced the ban after the launch of their new ride Zufari, in which visitors come face to face with giraffes, rhinos and other animals as they drive around in off-road trucks. What happens when the animals see a print similar to their own is this: they act a little "overfriendly" and come up really close to the visitors, which is pretty dangerous. But when they see a person wearing a print that looks like a predator's skin (like when a zebra sees a leopard print), they get really, really scared! The zoo said that anyone wearing animal prints would be able to borrow clothing to cover up while on the ride. So remember, if you do happen to ever visit this zoo, please don't wear your favourite zebra-striped t-shirt! A The Whiz Times Presentation. Story by AFP.
