Brooms come out in the "Clean India campaign"
Keeping it clean. Indians are tired of seeing unclean roads and unhygienic places. To improve conditions, Indian Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi launched a "Clean India Campaign" encouraging everyone to keep their surroundings clean.Government offices where instructed to clean-up, remove piles of old files, paper and other things, and keep only the most important items to reduce clutter.As a symbolic gesture, PM Modi himself went out on the streets with broom in his hand to clean the streets. This event also marks another important occasion- that of Mahatma Gandhi's birth anniversary. Mahatma Gandhi, known worldwide as the face of peace and non-violence, also advocated cleanliness.
