Malaysia, Philippines, Italy battle with multiple disasters
This was a week full of disasters all over the world. Take a look at some of the disasters that troubled people in many countries:
Floods hit Southern Philippines, force thousands to flee
Floods forced thousands of people to be evacuated in the southern Philippines on Monday as a tropical storm battered the region with strong winds and heavy rains. The storm is locally called as Seniang and has caused widespread havoc in Surigao del Sur province in Philippines.
Flood waters as deep as five feet (1.5 metres) were reported in some areas as rescuers in rubber boats rushed to aid residents trapped in their homes. The storm's winds had felled trees and blown roofs off shanties. Seniang, the storm, is moving west at 11 kilometres (seven miles) per hour, and is expected to cross the central Philippines in the next two days.Malaysia sees worst floods in decades

Italy Ferry Disaster
Rescuers battled in the dark to save nearly 300 passengers trapped on a burning Italian ferry. The ferry called "Norman Atlantic" had caught fire in the middle of its journey, with 478 passengers on board. By early morning Monday, a total of 197 passengers out of the 478 on board had been rescued, according to the Italian coast guard, as teams from Greece, Italy and Albania battled through the night.
