What's funny with the weather?
The weatherman has been the butt of jokes (something people usually make fun of) for as long as people have been forecasting the weather.
Since weather is so difficult to predict, weather forecasts have often gone wrong. In the last week of January 2015, the city of New York, USA, was warned of a severe blizzard and advised to stay home. People did. The storm passed the city by- without hitting the city at all. Many New Yorkers were not amused that they lost a day’s work.
So, rather than fret and fume about the weather, the weather and the weatherman are common jokes.
With improvements in technology, weather forecasts are becoming more and more accurate, but the jokes remain!
