This organisation helps children play
All the children have to do is- have a dream and the willingness to play on!
Everyone loves to play and express themselves.
But for some, sports and extra-curricular activities can cost a neat bit. Not every family may have the money to send their child to the courts or the field or to music lessons. Not just that, many schools have begun cutting their sports budget since funds are falling short.
To meet costs, some schools have to charge their students to participate in sports programmes. Children whose parents cannot afford that extra amount may have to fall out of the programme even if their talent deserves they play on.
It hurts Jaime Canedo of Arizona, USA to see deserving children outside the field.
In 2014 Canedo was coaching his daughter’s soccer team. He noticed some families were having financial issues in letting their children continue playing. So, this kind father and coach started a project of hope and is President and Founder of Young Athletes Relief Fund.
Canedo is trying to make sure that needy, talented children get to chase their dream. That way, he hopes, every child will get a level playing field from the early days and have a chance to make their lives more promising and rewarding.
Apart from needy children, Canedo and his team also help schools and sports leagues that are running short on funds so that they can keep their athletic programmes on track. A talented child may even win a scholarship to study further.
The cause has inspired volunteers who give their time, ideas and efforts to make a positive difference to the lives of those who have less.
Canedo is overwhelmed that he has been able to help such children.
“It’s the kids that make me a better person every day,” he says.
This is Jordan Wenz! A rockin young female vocalist living her dreams playing in a teen-age rock band! The organisation "Help Children Play" stepped up to help her mother pay one month's tuition for Jordan's music class!
He believes these children who are interested in pursuing sports or music ought to be rewarded for being good citizens.
