The young male hippos had dodged its capturers after spending a few weeks in a park in the city, popping up in gardens and on roads, while on the run!

It then moved into the sewage treatment plant, where there was plenty of water and food for the young runaway hippo to stay there and hide from its capturers!
These creatures may look cute, but they can be very violent at times and can even run faster than a human on land. So because of this, the people trying to catch it were quite worried.
But all turned out well in the end. Operation "Capture Hippo" took 90 minutes, before the animal was taken to a private game reserve, 380 kilometres (240 miles) east of Cape Town.
Let's hope this young hippo doesn't try to escape again!
