Malaysian Grand Prix: Hamilton lead in qualifiers, Alonso wins the race

  Saturday, 24th March 2012: SEPANG, Malaysia: Britain's Lewis Hamilton made it two straight pole positions to start the motor racing season in the qualifying rounds for the Malaysian Grand Prix on Saturday, 24th March 2012.

Update: 25th march: The Sepang Grand Prix was finally won by Ferrari driver Fernando Alonso.
  Lewis HamiltonHamilton, timed 1min 36.219sec in the qualifying session- and won in both qualifying races. Seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher finished third. Red Bull team's Mark Webber was fourth -followed by Kimi Raikkonen at fifth position and defending world champion Sebastian Vettel in sixth. Mish- The Whiz Kid
  Did you know that all Formula 1 races have two practice runs before the final race? Yes, this is one of the few games to have a practice run before the final game. These practice sessions usually give a hint on who the winner is going to be- in the final races. At both the F1 practice sessions in Malaysia, Lewis Hamilton of McLaren was a clear winner of the race and he set the pace for the final race. By winning first in both practice races, he has won the top spot for the race. This means, he will be lined first in the race. He was followed by teammate (he also belongs to the McLaren team) Jenson Button at number two and the all-time favourite Michael Schumacher (Mercedes team) at number 3.
A similar race, called the Australian Grand Prix, was also held last weekend. Here too, both the McLaren cars won the race.   Get to Know Hamilton British GP - Lewis Hamilton Hamilton is the racing car driver for McLaren. He was the world champion in F1 racing in 2008. Recently, he was in the news because of his cry-baby behaviour at the Australian Grand Prix practice sessions when he finished third behind teammate Jenson Button and currently double world champion Sebastian Vettel. He is from Britain and he is 27 years old.

Jenson ButtonJenson Button was the winner at the Australian Grand Prix last week. At Malaysia, he came second. He is from Britain and he starting karting from the age of 8! Right now, he is worried about a strong fight from Michael Schumacher's Mercedes, which will start third right after him. He is 22 years old.       Get to Know Schumacher MICHAEL SCHUMACHER   Michael Schumacher is a German car racer who has won Formula 1 race seven times. He was won many records. Earlier, he used to win races in a Ferrari. Now, he drives the Mercedes. He will start third in the race tomorrow after Hamilton and Button. He is 43 years old.     This year's Formula One series features an unprecedented six former world champions, with Vettel, 24, bidding to become only the third driver in the sport's history to win three titles in a row. Some other people to watch out for in the race will be Jean-Eric Vergne in his Toro Rosso along with Romain Grosjean and Kimi Raikkonen of Lotus. This race is also the first time after 2006 that Schumacher has achieved so high scores.  
Update: 25th march: The Sepang Grand Prix was finally won by Ferrari driver Fernando Alonso in a thrilling race on a rainy day. This was Alonso's 28th career win.   Results, Top Six
