You won't believe what was the prize trophy made out of!
On 17th September 2014, New York was chosen as the winner of the ‘Most Vegan-Friendly City’ among all of the states and cities in the United State of America.'Vegans' are people who eat only plant based products. 'Vegetarians' are people who don't eat meat but can consume animal products like milk, butter, etc This award is given out by an organization called PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment for Animals). How did the trophy look like? Well, it was made out of vegetables, of course! The prize was shaped like a model of the Manhattan island- carved entirely from vegetables (don't miss the trees shaped using Broccoli!). Manhattan is an island and a part of New York city.
New York has more than 140 vegetarian restaurants, countless veggie-friendly establishments, and the first vegetarian public school.
