Nokia Lumia has a feature called Kid’s Corner, which creates a safe place on your Nokia Lumia where a child can enjoy certain games, apps and content while keeping everything else out of bounds. And it is REALLY simple to activate.
How does the 'Kid’s Corner' work?
The Kid’s Corner creates a section within your Lumia that gives children access to the games, apps, music and videos that YOU have chosen for them.
It’s like setting a ‘Child lock’ on your Lumia smartphones. Everything else such as your Start screen, your apps and your data is out of bounds for them. They could only be accessed using a password that you have set.
With Kid’s Corner you can let children play with your Lumia with complete peace of mind.
You can set up which features you want to add in the Kid’s corner- including what games, music, videos and apps do you want to give them access to. You can, of course, change these settings whenever you wanted to, and add new stuff in there.
Now the next time you have to access all the stuff allowed in the Kid’s corner, all you have to do is- just swipe towards the left from your lock screen, to make the Kid’s Corner screen appear. Swipe up to see all the content that you’ve allowed in Kid’s Corner. Dead simple. No fiddling around with the ‘settings’ and going through all those cryptic functions- just a swipe- very intuitive.
Ok- another bit of interesting information: When someone is in Kid’s Corner they are unable to access the other bits of your Lumia unless they know the password you set! From within Kid’s Corner, a child won’t be able to make calls, send any texts or buy any apps. However, even when the phone is being used by the kids in the Kid’s Corner mode, you can still hear message or email notifications and answer calls. To access the messages or emails though, you need to use a password. Super right? It just does not end there. The Kid’s corner appearance can be super customized too!
