Amazing board game developed by Primary school kids wins competition

Winners get a prize for a trip to Japan!

Do you love parks and open spaces? Most people do. And it is sometimes annoying to see people who do not care for the parks. Well, they need to be educated in the right park etiquette.  And that is exactly the problem that some primary school children from Singapore solved. They figured out that most people, especially kids love to play board games. And if they are educated in park etiquette by means of a fun board game, they would appreciate how to have the right park etiquette and in turn, can do their parts to save the environment. And hence, as a part of the Panasonic NEA Eco Ideas Challenge 2014, held in Singapore, these children created a board game to help improve park etiquette. Guess what? This game of theirs was declared the winner in the Primary School category and these children are now going to Japan for a study trip!

In June this year, 38 teams from primary and secondary schools in Singapore were shortlisted and awarded funding of $500, to develop and implement environment projects. First prize winners in both primary and secondary school categories will be making a fully sponsored five-day study trip to Japan this December to learn more about Panasonic’s advanced eco technology and practices.

The Whiz Times' Junior Whiz Editor, Adya, caught up with the winning team at the venue (Panasonic's 'eco ideas' Factory at Panasonic Appliances Refrigeration Devices Singapore) to hear first hand about their ideas from the winners. Watch the video below:     What do you think about the idea of developing a board game to educate children about the right park etiquette? Do you have any ideas of your own that will help people know more about nature and conservation?
