After the deadly avalanche that killed 16 Nepalese guides (sherpas) on Mount Everest earlier this month, other Nepalese guides have decided not to continue with this year's climbing season. Sherpas have a very tough job, carrying tents, food and ropes for climbers who have paid a lot of money and come from all over the world to conquer Mount Everest. Scientists have discovered a high number of genes in cow manure (poop) that may lead to superbugs. Superbugs are bacteria that are resistant to antibiotics which are used to kill bacteria. If these antibiotic-resistant genes find their way into humans, it may mean that humans may suffer from more infections that cannot be treated with antibiotics. Hungry for more cow trivia? South Korea suspects that North Korea may carry out a nuclear test soon. US President Barack Obama is scheduled to visit South Korea in a few days' time. South Korea says this move by North Korea could be a way of scaring the US and getting some attention. North Korea is under pressure from other countries to scale down its nuclear program.
