Legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar retired from cricket on 16 November 2013 after playing his 200th Test Match. By then, the man who made his Test cricket debut at the age of 16, had scored a total 34,357 runs after playing 664 international cricket matches.
Sachin Tendulkar
Sachin Tendulkar’s greatness as a player was apparent from his early years. By 2002, Sachin, then just 29 years old, was mentioned in 'Wisden Cricketers’ Almanack' as the second greatest Test batsman ever, second only to Sir Don Bradman. He represented India in six World Cups, his team finishing second in 2003 and winning the trophy in 2011.
By the time he retired, Sachin Tendulkar had scored one hundred centuries in international cricket and the first to hit a double century in an international one day match.
Sachin’s is a magical life worth chronicling. Books have been written on him. Now, it is time for a film based on the maestro. And who better to play the role of Sachin other than the man himself? It is being produced by Mumbai-based "200 Not Out" along with "World Sports Group". It will be directed by James Erskine and will include rare footage from Sachin’s career. The film will be screened in more than 2,000 theatres across the world.
The film is expected to be ready for release in 2015.
