Bakery sent “horrific” version of Frozen-themed birthday cake to unsuspecting customer
We all want the perfect birthday party: lovely cake, family and friends and a present or two. However, a little girl’s fairy tale party certainly didn’t end up happily ever after when her birthday cake arrived looking like a nightmare version of Frozen’s Queen Elsa.
Briana’s family had asked an unnamed baker to fashion her Frozen-themed birthday cake based on a cake of Elsa from McGreevey Cakes. The latter is an American high-end decorating tips website, who had posted a stunning photo of their own Disney character creation online.
But what was boxed up and sent to the unsuspecting family was an entirely different version.
Instead of pale skin, silvery hair and delicate, proportional features, the Elsa they got looked at least twice her age, with clumpy straw-coloured hair, a lumpy nose and terrifying eyes bulging out of the side of her face. Almost orange in colour, she also looked like she just had a spray tan.
A family member posted the horror version on social media which quickly garnered over 2000 comments within hours.
One comenter said,
“The sad thing is, as horrific as it looks, someone put serious time into making that cake. Every misshapen blob, every terrifying curve and flourish. There are hours and hours of terrible craftsmanship here.”
Another added,
“It is possible to work really hard and still (be bad) at what you’re doing.”
With any luck, let’s hope the cake tasted better than it looked!
