Use these tips for the most awesome school holidays

Hurray! School is over and the school holidays are here. What are your plans for these school holidays?  Are you going out somewhere for vacation with your parents? Or are your cousins/relatives coming over to your place? Or are you just going to have a free-n-easy time with no plans at all? Well, it's a good idea to sit back and relax after all the stress caused by your exams for sure- but let us recommend some tips that could help you make full use of your vacations.

1. Recharge!

We know. You have worked very hard for your school and exams. So it is obvious you want to put your feet up and relax for a while. That's a great idea. De-stress yourself, calm your nerves and get yourself ready so that when school reopens, you feel refreshed and energized.  Relaxing! 2. Pick up a new activity

School holidays are a good time pick up on a new skill or indulge in new activity. Maybe there is something you always wanted to do? Learn skating, maybe? Or biking? How about picking up a computer class? Maybe you want to start learning music?   School holidays Pandas can skate? Credit: Open Clipart

3. Pick an online course or two

The Whiz Times is definitely the best platform out there to know about what is happening in the world. It gets you the smarter head-start that others might not have.  In the same way, there are a few sites/apps that allow you to learn something new- just using the Internet. You can pick up a course that you always wanted to (there are lots of options- starting from learning animation to graphic design to cooking and what not!) Of course the courses come at a cost- but the cost is usually not all that expensive and you can learn at whatever time you wanted to! Start with sites like Udemy or Lynda and see if they have some courses that you want to take up!

4. Catch Up With Your Family And Friends!

Each one of us is busy-busy. But that does not mean that we sometimes neglect our near and dear ones- including our family members and friends. In the busy school season, there isn't enough time to spend with your parents, brothers and sisters.  Well, now is the time to catch up.  Board games are a great way to play along with your family Credit: Wikimedia You can help with housework, work on a recipe together with your mummy or dad, play some board games together with all at family- or give a challenge to your dad on X-Box/PSP games.  These are some great ways that you can choose to spend time having fun with your friends and family.

5. Go outdoors

An outdoor activity is the awesomest of all! Find a place to go on a picnic, pack your bags- and off you go for that little outdoor fun!  You can also get together with your friends for an evening game of soccer or even organize a weekend sack race! Sack Race (School holidays) Credit: Flickr

6. Clean up you room!

We know that old joke about "If I clean up my room, I wouldn't know how to find anything"- but really- you know your room is in a mess isn't it?  Well, during school season, there isn't enough time to do all that clean up. But during the school holidays? Surely you can take out a few hours for a thorough clean-up? A tidy and clean room can do wonders for your mood. Not only this, it makes you feel happy from within yourself, apart from being is conducive to living and studying. It also shows how much you respect yourself and your family members.

7. Read a book (or many!)

OK- comics count too- but only as an add-on to books. You see- books open up your imagination like nothing else. You just read the words on the page and your brain cells light up, imagining the picture that the words are trying to paint. You will soon discover that books can be a lot of fun and very useful.

8. Give a little time to studies too

Last but not least, while it is tempting to leave out studies completely, you must make some time for studies.  You see, the human brain works efficiently only when you repeat something. If you totally leave studies out, your brain will be 'out of practice' and when you start schools again, you would easily be starting all over again. All the hard work you had put in earlier- would be spoiled by a few weeks of holidays. You don't want that to happen, do you?  You can devote a few hours a week and just read through or revise some of the school work. It will help your brain in top condition without stressing out.
