Have you ever seen a shooting star? Do you know how do these shiny and colorful falling stars come about?A shooting star, also known as a meteor, is the bright and visible trail of a meteorite when it travels through the Earth’s atmosphere. A meteorite is a rock from outer space when a comet has its ice melted by the sun and then falls into Earth. As it continues to fall through the Earth’s atmosphere at high speed, the meteorite becomes hotter, and it displaces the air surrounding it causing a colored ‘tail’ to follow behind as they fall down in the sky. A meteor shower is when many meteorites fall from the same original point, making it look like a shower of shooting stars falling down in the night sky.Watch the video to learn and know more about it!Remember to wish upon a shooting star when you see one!
