Robi is raring to go!
Japanese toy and entertainment company, Takara Tomy, has placed its humanoid robots at Robi Cafe in Tokyo, the capital of Japan. They call Robi humanoid because it resembles human beings. Its movements are also more human-like. Robi-robot The cafe is in Tokyo’s busy Ginza district. The robots are not there just to look cute. These robots, 34 cm --- a little more than 13 inches tall ---are special.They will entertain customers at the cafe. They can recognize more than 200 Japanese phrases and responds to human voices. They can also walk, dance and kick a ball at the cafe.The robots have been created by Tomotaka Takahashi, research associate professor of the University of Tokyo.
